POLYTECHNIC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (POLYCET-2026)
DETAILED NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited from Candidates who have passed SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana, Hyderabad (or) appearing in 2026 to appear “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test – POLYCET-2026” for seeking admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering and NonEngineering/ Technology offered at Polytechnics/ Institutions (including Government/Praivate/Aided and Unaided) in Telangana State.
Agricultural courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU) , Horticultural Diploma courses offered by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTGHU), Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU).
Eligibility to appear for POLYCET-2026:
Candidates who have passed the SSC or its equivalent examination recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana, Hyderabad, are eligible to apply.
The candidates who have compartmentally passed or are appearing for SSC-2026 are also eligible to apply.
However, they must have passed in all the subjects before seeking admission. Detailed
information regarding eligibility, age and syllabus etc., is given in the Instruction Booklet, which is available on the website www.polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in.
Fee Details:
The general candidates shall pay the examination fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only).
SC/ST candidates Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).
How to apply:
State Board of Technical Education & Training, Hyderabad, has made arrangement to file online applications at various Online Services/ through the payment gateway. The detailed list of Coordinating centers is available on the website www.polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in order to file an application.
The detailed procedure of filling up the application form is available in the Instructions. Candidates are advised to read these instructions carefully before filling the Application. A duly filled in application form is to be given to the Operator for filing Online at the nearest Coordinating Centre.
Important Dates to Remember:
1 Commencement of online registration for POLYCET2026. 02-02-2026
2 Last date for online registration with fee i.e., Rs.250/- for SC & ST and Rs.500/- for others. 20-04-2026
3 Last date for fee payment, Completion of the application details with Late fee of Rs. 100/- 21-04-2026
4 Last date for fee payment, Completion of the application details with Tatkal fee of Rs. 300/- 22-04-2026
5 Date of conduct of POLYCET-2026. 13-05-2026
6 Declaration of results. After 12 days of Exam
The Admission Schedule:
The admission schedule (Web Counselling) will be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2026 results.
Candidates are advised to note that the admission into Polytechnics for the academic year 2026-27 shall be made on the basis of Web Counselling, wherein the candidates can opt for any courses in any Polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his/her best-preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue.
Details of Web counselling and the list of Co-ordinating centers will be available on the website polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in and shall also be notified in all the leading newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2026 results.
Important Instructions for Candidates:
a) The Hall Ticket issued is an important document. Please preserve it carefully till the admissions.
b) Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall at least 1 hour before the commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself/herself with the OMR response sheet.
c) Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 11:00 AM, once the examination as commenced.
d) Candidates are directed to carry the following to the examination hall
(a). Good ballpoint pen black/blue)
(b) Writing pad
(c) HB Pencils
(d) an Eraser
(e) Sharpener.
e) Candidate should not bring logbooks, tables, calculators, tabs, cell phones, communicable/programmable electronic gadgets, etc. into the examination hall.
f) Candidates must remain seated in their allotted seats till the completion of the examination. In no case will be allowed to leave the examination hall till 1:30 PM. Before leaving, the candidates must return the OMR response sheet to the invigilator.
g) Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for marking answers and other entries on the OMR response sheet thoroughly.
h) The OMR response sheet should be handled carefully, and the candidates are advised not to fold, wrinkle or tear the OMR sheet under any circumstances. Candidates are advised not to scribble or make any marks on the response sheet except for marking answers and other relevant data at appropriate places. Candidates shall note that they will not be given a second OMR sheet under any circumstances.
i) Candidate shall mark the correct answer in the OMR response sheet by shading the appropriate circle with an HB pencil. They should not use a ball pen for this purpose under any circumstances.
j) Candidates should not suffer from any of the following defects: (i) Mentally retarded (ii) Blindness (iii) Deaf and Dumb (iv) Chronic Heart, Lung, Kidney, Liver diseases (v) Muscular dystrophy, and if found, the candidate will forfeit the chance to appear for the examination.

l) POLYCET-2026 Entrance Test is conducted for candidates who desire to take up admissions into:
i) Diploma level programs offered in Government, Government-Aided, Private Un-Aided Polytechnics, and Polytechnics running in existing Private Un-Aided Engineering Colleges in Telangana State.
ii) Diploma Courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), both University and affiliated polytechnics in the Telangana State.
iii) Diploma Courses offered by PV Narsimha RaoTelangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU), Telangana State.
iv) Diploma Courses offered by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University (SKLTGHU).
m) Two separate Ranks will be allotted for the candidate who appeared for POLYCET.
n) For Diploma Courses in Polytechnics, Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
o) For Diploma Courses in PJTAU, PVNRTVU, and SKLTGHU, Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
p) Attempting Biology questions is optional.
q) Candidates can opt to take admission to either Diploma Courses offered in Polytechnics (or) Courses offered by PJTAU, PVNRTVU, and SKLTGHU.
r) No separate application form for admission is prescribed for the candidate desirous of seeking admission into Engineering (or) Non-Engineering Diploma courses offered by Polytechnics, the
filled-in application for POLYCET-2026 itself will be treated as application for admission into courses offered in Polytechnics
s) Separate admission notification will be issued for admission into various Diploma Courses offered by PJTAU on the University website www.pjtsau.edu.in after the declaration of results of POLYCET-2026.
t) Separate admission notification will be issued for admission into various Diploma Courses offered by PVNRTVU on the University website https://tsvu.nic.in/home.aspx after the declaration of results of POLYCET-2026.
u) Separate admission notification will be issued for admission into various Diploma Courses offered by SKLTGHU on the University website http://skltshu.ac.in/ after the declaration of results of POLYCET-2026.
